Raymond C. Koch, age 78, of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, August 17, 2018 at his home. He was born November 23, 1939 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Frank and Helen (Lipps) Koch. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish and attended the St. Patrick Chapel in Fayetteville. He retired in 2000 as a civil engineer for the Ohio Dept. of Transportation after over forty years of service. He was also a lifetime farmer, and loved his family deeply. He is survived by seven children, Theresa Koch of Lynchburg, Beth (Erik) Kingus of Fayetteville, Kim (Paul) Spencer of Columbus, Mike (Beth) Koch of Fayetteville, Rick (Debbie) Koch of LaPort, MN, Greg (Abra) Koch of Blanchester and Tom (Katie) Koch of Sheridan, IN; fifteen grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, Meghan, Tyler, Nathan, Logan, Xander, Elliott, Carolyn, Owen, Helen, Adam, Lucy, Caleb and Dylan; two brothers, Charles (Joann) Koch of Brookville, IN and Bernie (Mary) Koch of Cincinnati; three sisters, Frances (Dennis) Halaby of Cincinnati, Mary Helen Wurtz of Columbus and Rita (Jim) Brinck of Batavia; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-four years, Mary H. (Brinck) Koch, on December 7, 1998; and a brother, Robert Koch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Father Thomas L. Bolte will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday August 22, 2018 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
