A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Piney Grove Baptist Church 13255 GA Highway 85 Waverly Hall, GA. with Pastor Desmond Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel at Rose Hill LLC 2919 Hamilton Road Columbus, GA. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 1 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Marshall was born June 16, 1929 in Talbot County, GA to the late Ethan and Lucy Marshall. He was a simple man with an amazing gift to give to others through his songs, stories, sense of humor, his crops and his love. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Eddie Marshall and a son, Harold Marshall. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Carrie Bell Marshall; nine children, Joann (James) Hunter, Bettye Mahone, Willie Marshall, Annie Hamler, Janie Smith, Jimmie (Wallace) Copeland, Lillian (Dwight) Parks, Juanita Marshall and Jacqueline Marshall; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
