Pamela Skelton Vaughn went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and be reunited with her daughter Heather in Heaven on August 19, 2018. She was an amazing woman who dearly loved her family and friends. She was born on September 1, 1957 in Republic, Alabama. She graduated from Gardendale High School in 1975. In 1979 she then married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Vaughn. Later, her life was made all the more rich with the arrival of her son, Heath, followed by her daughter, Heather. They raised their family in Gardendale, Alabama and attended Gardendale First Baptist Church. She considered herself a full-time grandmother and found her greatest joy in loving and serving her family well, especially her four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret Skelton; brothers, Harold and Herbert; and her precious daughter, Heather. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Ronnie; beloved son Heath, his wife Ashley, and their beautiful children, Allie Kate, Ava Grace, Hudson, and Mason. With the loss of her parents at a young age, Pam is also survived by those she considered to be a second mother and father, Dorothy and Willie (Buddy) Vaughn – known to all as Nan and Pop. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Richard (Diane) Skelton and Frank (Carolyn) Skelton; sister, Billie Jane Kelley; brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Wendy Vaughn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Gardendale First Baptist Church North Campus with burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to the Heather Vaughn Memorial Scholarship at Gardendale High School or Gardendale First Baptist Church – Mission Fund.
