Carolyn Sue Ray, 67, of Pauls Valley, passed away August 19, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma after her brave and long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her three daughters, her mother and sister as she left this world peacefully.

Sue was born November 24, 1950 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Nathan Homer Ray and Emma L. Ray. She grew up in Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley Schools. She made Oklahoma City her home most of her life. Sue worked as a Nurse’s Assistant for many years at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City before her retirement. She was an avid gardener. Her backyard was always a showcase of beautiful flowers and the birds flocked to her bird feeders. Most important to her was her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan H. Ray; brother, Larry Joe Ray from Pauls Valley and son in law, David Vandever from Blanchard.

Sue is survived by her three daughters, Shanna Vandever of Weatherford, Texas; Maggie Miller of Carrollton, Texas; and Stephanie Isaac of Oklahoma City; 7 grandchildren, Scott and Dez Vandever of Rogers, Arkansas; Kevin and Ashley Vandever of Cleburne, Texas; Emma and Juan Gutierrez of Weatherford, Texas; Jeff and Meagan Ivie of Yukon; McCleary and Devin Tanner of Yukon; Zac Isaac of Jones, and Jake Awbrey of Oklahoma City; 15 great grandchildren; her mother, Emma L. Ray of Pauls Valley; two sisters, Natha Ray of Pauls Valley; and Gail Arrasmith of Denton, Texas.

A visitation for Family and Friends will be Tuesday, August 21st, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Jeremy Clayton. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
