David Grant Burleson, 72, was born in Chickasha, OK on December 19, 1945, to Wilbert Lee and Darlene Ruth (Waterbury) Burleson. He was welcomed into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on August 18, 2018. David graduated Wellston, OK High School in 1964 and married his high school sweetheart Martha Eileen Pool in 1966. He graduated from Oklahoma State University (BS-Biochemistry) and Duke University (PhD-Biochemistry) thereafter serving in the US Army for 26 years retiring as a Colonel. David was a dedicated Christian serving in a variety of leadership positions in churches, most recently as Administrative Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church. David is survived by his wife; sons, Neil and Brian; siblings, Rosa Lee, Charlotte, Angela, and Dan; their spouses and 7 grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2:00pm at Fellowship Bible Church: 4026 Morningside Dr., New Braunfels, Texas 78132. The Graveside service will be on Thursday, August 30, at 1:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Bible Church going towards New Tribes Mission for an academic school serving Papua New Guinean children.
