1915-2014 BRATTLEBORO Harriet Adam Fisher, 98, of Pleasant Valley Road, passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 24, 2014 at Thompson House on Maple Street. Mrs. Fisher was born in Brattleboro on December 29, 1915, daughter of Frederick and Hattie (Bruce) Adam. Harriet was married to Roland J. Fisher in Brattleboro on January 29, 1940 and their marriage together lasted 72 years until Mr. Fisher's death on February 18, 2012. Harriet is survived by her youngest brother Alfred Adam of Melbourne, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Mrs. Fisher was a prominent businesswoman in Brattleboro for many years and together with her husband Roland owned and operated a number of successful businesses in Windham County. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher are most remembered for establishing R.J. Fisher Real Estate on Main Street in Brattleboro, one of the premier Real Estate Agencies in Southern Vermont. Harriet loved the Brattleboro community and together with her husband, Roland, supported very generously many area organizations over the years. Mrs. Fisher will be remembered by her family and close friends as a very kind, caring and thoughtful lady and will be deeply missed by all those she touched during her long life.
