Amory - April Eileen Brose Myers, 63, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at NMMC Hospice after battling a reoccurrence of cancer a couple months. April was born on April 2, 1955 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late King Richard and Aurie King Brose. She was educated in the North Carolina public schools, graduated from Broughton High School there in 1973 and attended North Carolina State University. Her earliest career path placed her with the City of Raleigh Water Department. She moved to Mississippi 25 years ago and had lived in the Verona, Plantersville, Wren and Amory communities while here. At her death, she resided in Amory. Her first work here was with Eljer Mfg. She was Director of Human Resources at True Temper Sports where she had been a valued associate for 11 years. She was affiliated with the Lutheran faith, loved animals especially cats, dogs, and horses, enjoyed bowling earlier in life, and was an avid reader. She was beloved by her family and work associates and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at 6 PM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 PM-service time on Thursday only.
April is survived by her two daughters, Beth Ann Myers of Amory and Kasey N. Tiller of Clayton, North Carolina. A son, Zachary A. Myers of Huntsville, Alabama and her fourth child, Puppy, her fox terrier. 3 grandchildren, Destiny Sewell, Kolby Sewell and Madison Freeman all of Clayton, NC and a brother, Richard Brose (Carrie) of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathy Brose.
