From The Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - January 1982:
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, Sarah Florence McCune Lunt, age 107, died January 16, 1982 in a Los Angeles, California hospital.
Born September 16, 1874 in Nephi, Utah to Elizabeth Grace and Henry F. McCune. Married Shadrack James Lunt October 17, 1896 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Served with her husband on LDS Mission to the Hawaiian Islands for four years where he was manager of the LDS Plantation. She served as Relief Society President, and was the first housemother at Brighton MIA Home for three years. She served as MIA teacher and leader, worked in the Genealogical Library, was on the County Board of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and a receptionist in the Los Angeles Temple. She has done extensive traveling during the past few years with a special trip in celebration of her 100th birthday in Europe.
Survived by: sons, Frederick Earl and Clinton Edward, both of Honolulu, Hawaii; Shadrach McCune, Los Angeles, California; daughter, Mabel McCune Russon, Los Angeles, California; brothers, Ross Hamilton McCune, Ogden; Clarence Scott McCune, California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. in the Wilshire Ward, Los Angeles, California. Graveside services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., in Nephi, Utah.
