On August 13, 2018, Byron Victor Black ( with his wife Barbara by his side) passed away at home after a long battle with cancer.

As a young boy Byron enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and playing serious baseball. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1958 and for awhile drove trucks for several local companies. He operated concrete mixers for Apex and Apex-Target until Apex-Target closed their doors. Byron then drove for MTA and served as union steward until his retirement in 2000.

After retiring he continued boating and fishing with his friend Bill, his father- in law- Wilbur and all of his grandchildren. He also took pride in caring for a beautiful lawn-and it was!.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents, many uncles and aunts, niece, Darlene Graham; nephew, Leslie Johnson; father- and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Alice Adair and stepsons, Jack, David and Randy.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 21 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery followed by a reception in the Sunset Chapel for a time to refresh, relax, renew acquaintances and to make new ones.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ARL in memory of Byron and Barbara's "beloved" Dolly who was adopted 16 years ago from the ARL and passed away on February 5, 2018. Dolly's cremated remains will also be buried August 21, 2018. Thank you Dr. Anil Regmi and your "magical" surgical hands for saving our Dolly after her accident 16 years ago.
