Jackie Martin, 78, of Tuscumbia, passed from this life to be with her Heavenly Father, August 18, 2018. Mrs. Martin was a native of Colbert County. She was a member of Srygley Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elsie Kirchner; sister, Carolyn Hooper; infant brother, James Albert Kirchner; and son-in-law, Mike Berry.
Jackie was a wonderful Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She never met a stranger and liked to talk and make new friends. Her passion was gardening and giving garden vegetables and canned goods to friends. She enjoyed singing at church and had a beautiful alto voice.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dayton Martin; sons, Robert and Daniel Martin; daughter, Dedra Berry; grandchildren, Patrick Berry (Betsy), Eric Berry (Kyleigh), Zachary and Jasmine Martin; one great granddaughter, MiKenlee Berry.
Her visitation will be Monday, August 20th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, August 21st at 2:00 pm at Srygley Church of Christ with Don McGuyer officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Berry, Eric Berry, Zachary Martin, Bobby Gene Hooper, Bo Hooper, and Keith Jones.
