Matthew Wallace SAN ANTONIO -- Matthew Joseph Wallace (Matt) passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 46. SERVICE: Matt Wallace's wishes were to be cremated. Memorial and Celebration of his Life will be on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at North Richland Hills Baptist, 6955 Blvd 26/Grapevine Hwy, North Richland Hills, Tx 76180. Matt Wallace was born on June 30, 1972 in Cleburne, Texas. He graduated from LD Bell High School in 1991 in Hurst, Texas and then began his career at 18 in the fire alarm industry that continued until his passing. He started out as a fire alarm tech working throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and worked his way up to General Manager, where in August of 2017 it brought him to San Antonio, Texas to oversee and run full operations for Koetter Fire Protection. Matt was a man who worked hard making sure not only family but countless friends were taken care of. He had a big heart for people, if you needed anything, this man was likely to figure it out or take care of it for you. One minute he could have you upset and the next you couldn't help but love him. He loved to pick his battles whether betting against the Cowboys or picking away at politics. Most everyone who knew Matt knew he was passionate about his hunting and fishing and he didn't do anything small. He hunted many leases in different states and in 2008 made his way to Africa with his dad and several friends for what he considered the ultimate hunting trip. In 2014 Matt decided to focus on his other passion, fishing, and with his friend Mike Hubbard they started Double M Outdoors Guide Service. He loved being on the water and watching his customers have a great time. If you had the opportunity to be on the boat and fish with him, you knew he was focused and determined to make the trip out to be the most memorable experience for you, not only were you going to catch fish but you were going to laugh and have a great time, he wouldn't have had it any other way. This man lived his life to the fullest enjoying his time here by loving, caring and protecting those he loved even at the time of his illness with liver and kidney failure and up until he passed. He fought a tough battle for the last few months hoping to get transplanted soon but an infection set in and took his life before he could be saved with new organs. His presence will be deeply missed and leave a huge hole in so many of our lives and hearts. To know him was to love him. Matt Wallace, you will be forever remembered and loved. SURVIVORS: His amazing life will always be cherished in the lives of his loving wife, Kathy of San Antonio, Texas. His children; son, Jordan Wallace and his wife, Rebekah; daughter, Jaycee Wallace; son, Jacob Wallace; stepson, Garrett Schooling and his husband, Garrett Kilgore; and stepdaughter, Meghan Schooling, all living in the Dallas/Ft.
