1928 - 2018

Robert "Bob" Chambers was born at 1805 Pitman Avenue in Bronx, New York on April 9, 1928 - the youngest child of James & Emma (Osyor) Chambers. He graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx in 1946, and began his working career at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City in the Foreign Exchange department for $25 a week.

He married his sweetheart, Irene A. deDufour, on June 5, 1949 in St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in the Bronx. They became the parents of 7 children, raising 6 to adulthood.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, his parents, 3 brothers and a sister, 1 son, and 2 very dear, lifelong friends - Jack Heiden and Alfred J. LaPerch.

He will be cremated per his wishes, and his ashes will be laid to rest beside his wife at a later date. A family memorial service is planned pending arrangements.

UPDATE: The family graveside service was held on October 27, 2018, and was attended by his 6 children and their spouses, 2 nieces, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
