Sharon Lee McEachron Powell went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2018. Sharon was born in Cody, Wyoming, on January 28, 1934, the third child of Howard and Rosella Sande McEachron. Sharon was fun loving, well read, and a good friend and confidant to many people. An excellent writer, she turned down a scholarship at Columbia University to stay in Cody and help her family. One of her first jobs was a phone operator, and she kept a switchboard plug on her keychain to remind her time keeping Cody people connected. On July 20, 1953, she married the love of her life, Blakes Laverne Powell, a Mississippi boy who was working in the oil fields outside Cody at the time. Together they raised four children in Cody and overseas in Venezuela and Lebanon as the family followed Blakes during his successful career in the oil exploration industry. Sharon was known for her hospitality, keen wit, sense of humor, and a phenomenal ability to lend a sympathetic ear to her friends and her children’s friends. Some of her favorite times were spent around her kitchen table with lots of family, food, and great conversation.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Blakes Powell; her parents, Howard and Rosella McEachron; her brothers, Richard McEachron and Pat McEachron (Zelda); her son, Kristen Powell; her daughter-in-law, Ruthie Powell; and her grandson, Fritz Hoffman.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Julie McEachron; her daughters, Mindy Gullen (Richard) and Lisa Hoffman (Paul); her son, Nicholas Powell; her grandchildren, Sage Powell (Jessie), Skylar Powell (Eunah), Zach Powell, Kylee Powell, Ryan Cole, Andy Cole, Desiree Hoffman, William Powell, Susan Powell, Keegan Powell (Tyfiedra), and Blakes Powell (Sarah); her cousins, Keith Sande (Elise) and J. O. Ratliff (Liz); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
