She was the daughter of Lyle B. and Lois M. (Ames) Stitt. She was raised in Verona where she attended Maxwell Grade School and graduated from Mazon High School.

Nancy was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, gardening, painting and fellowship with Friends. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family.
