FORT WORTH - Lee Sheffield Russell, 91, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018.
Lee Russell was born in Canton, Mississippi on Oct. 10, 1926. She went to high school in Sardis Mississippi, where she met and married Jim Russell, who passed away seven years ago. They moved to Fort Worth in 1960 and made Fort Worth their home for the last 58 years.
She was known for her quick wit, wisdom, sweet smile and gentle countenance. She loved living in Fort Worth and was an avid fan of TCU football, and spent many years playing golf at Ridglea Country Club. She participated with various ministries serving those in need and was especially involved with the Salvation Army. She enjoyed her PEO group, and her Dining & Outing group was very special to her. She was a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church where she met with her small group at Trinity Terrace, her residence for the last seven years. She was the owner and Chairman of the Board of Fort Worth Bolt & Tool, previously owned and operated by her late husband, Jim Russell.
Survivors: Son, David Russell and wife, Jesse of Fort Worth; daughter, Lee Anne Hendry and husband, Stuart of San Antonio; granddaughter, Taylor Garcia and husband, John of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Emily Cage and husband, William of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Crawford Cage 3 and Lyles Cage 1 of San Antonio.
