Constance Marlene (Dixon) Patterson, affectionately known as Connie, was born in Chicago, Ill. on Dec. 18, 1931. She grew up in Centerville, Iowa and graduated from high school there. Subsequently, she attended college at Howard University and graduated in 1953. While a student at Howard, she met her future husband, classmate George "Pat" Patterson. They married Dec. 26, 1953 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Evanston, Ill. They have two sons, Roderick (Air Force Retiree) and Michael (Navy Retiree). Connie was the proud grandmother of Michael's offspring; twins Aaron and Ryan, and younger brother Gabriel. As an Air Force wife, Connie and the family lived at numerous locations throughout her husband's military career. They included location in Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Germany, California, and Colorado. She spent several years as a History and Social Studies teacher at North Junior, South Junior and Russel Middle School prior to retirement. As a retiree, she loved traveling to various foreign locations including Western European countries, Japan, China, and Hong Kong. She will be dearly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
