Jessie M. Jackson (nee Ellis), 74, passed away Monday, January 03, 2011 at Keystone Pointe Nursing Home in LaGrange following a four month illness. Jessie has been a resident of Elyria since 1959. She was born April 12, 1936 in Chelyan, West Virginia.
Retiring in 1996, she was employed at Moen in Elyria for 35 years as a tool crib specialist and valve tester. She was a member of UAW Local #101 and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, baking, catering, and decorating wedding cakes.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter Diane McCullough (husband Rodney) of Elyria; grandchildren Jarred (Katelyn) McCullough of Grafton and Kristen McCullough of Elyria; sisters Peggy Harrison of Iva, SC and Katherine Ellis of Liberty, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Jackson in 2004; brothers Ulysses, Harry, Paul, and Arthur Jr.; sisters Pauline, Irene, and Lorainne; parents Arthur, Sr. and Bessie (nee Eller) Ellis.
Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Rev. Darryl Meyers, Pastor of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday.
