Anna Jean Bair Perkes, age 84, of Hyde Park, returned to her Heavenly Father on Aug. 11, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at Logan Regional Hospital.
She was born March 1, 1934, in Logan, Utah, to Hyrum Earl and Amy Pickett Bair.
She grew up in Richmond and graduated from North Cache High School.
On Oct. 8, 1949, Anna Jean met her eternal companion, Leo LaMon Perkes.
She knew from the very beginning that he had the qualities that would make a good husband and father.
Making a decision that would lead to eternal blessings and rewards, they were sealed together Sept. 12, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple.
That decision blessed them with 65 sacred, memorable years together.
After their marriage, they spent time living in
Virginia while serving in the Army,
North Logan,
Minersville,
but mainly raising their family in Hyde Park.
They were blessed with seven amazing children:
five sons
and two daughters.
Anna Jean loved being a wife and mother and created a love-filled home that blessed not only the lives of her children, but everyone who entered.
She was dedicated to her family and exemplified motherhood.
Despite her health challenges throughout her life, she remained dedicated to serving and helping her posterity to her final days.
She loved to share her wisdom and love with everyone, whether they were family or friends.
She was an extraordinary woman of faith, courage, service and talent who led her family by her example of love and service.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served valiantly in every opportunity she had in the church.
She served as Relief Society president, Young Women president and was a great blessing to her husband in preparing patriarchal blessings as he served as stake patriarch.
This blessing was very sacred to them, as they were able to give those blessings to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna Jean and LaMon served in the Cove Fort Mission in 2000, an experience that they greatly loved, giving them opportunities to share their testimony with many people.
Anna Jean's greatest love was for her husband and family. Her life was defined by family and faith.
She had many gifts and talents that her children and grandchildren will continue to enjoy for many years.
She had a great love for quilting and making homemade chocolates.
Anna Jean and LaMon loved spending time with their family, providing cruises, vacations and reunions to strengthen their posterity.
They loved to go camping and spent many hours together with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her most noteworthy accomplishment was raising their seven children.
She poured her love into each child and instilled in them a sense of confidence, dedication and a desire to do good.
She taught them the importance of both a good education and a good character, and she tirelessly supported them through good times and bad.
She is deeply loved and respected by her children and now her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We will carry her example, love and confidence throughout our lives.

The family would like to thank the many doctors who have helped her throughout her life, and especially the ICU staff at Logan Regional Hospital for their kindness and love, not only to her but to her family in her final hours.
A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 1800 N. 420 East, North Logan.
A viewing will be held Saturday, Aug.18, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hyde Park Center Street Church, 65 E. Center St., Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be held at noon.
Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
