Janis Emilyn (Horner) Reed, 79, of Parkersburg, went to be with her Lord and savior August 14, 2018 from Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born in Wood County August 17, 1938, a daughter of the late Howard Clarence Horner and Mary Janet (Gearhart) Horner.

Janis was a member of The Celebration Center and was retired from Stork’s Bakery.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Deborah Deaton & (Joe) of Parkersburg, Tamela Maxwell & (Jeffery) of Parkersburg, Jennifer Deeter of Tulsa, OK, and Kristen Todd of Parkersburg, sons, Stephen Crites & (Julie) of Hagerstown, MD and Jason Lewis of Parkersburg, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister, Julie Ann Bowman of Parkersburg, brother, John “Jack” Horner of Parkersburg, step-daughter, Donna Bradsher of Parkersburg, several nieces and nephews, and her special friend Peaches.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wesley Reed Jr, sister, Sharon S. Adams, and 2 grandchildren.

Service will be Saturday 6:00 PM at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Mary Zimmer officiating. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to service on Saturday.
