Ann B. Watkins, 86, passed away on July 19, 2018. She was the daughter of the late John and Allie Ball.
Ann was a devout and obedient Christian all of her life, and she is now celebrating in heaven. She was more than a wife, mother, and grandmother to her family; she was also a role model who always showed love and reserved judgment. She watched her words and spoke with care and compassion.

If an outsider joined the family at a gathering, you would see Ann attending to everything and everyone. She was like a nimble ballerina pirouetting from one person or task to the next. She would make all the food, address everyone’s needs, and tickle the arms of tired children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would set several tables, polish silver, and join rowdy kids outside in the yard. She was always present, always a lady, and always in motion.

Every moment with Ann was a blessing. The reality is that we do not live here forever, but her family wishes Ann was an exception to this rule.

All around the world, there are people who live their faiths for good, that flourish in the lives God gave them, that do good and uphold beautiful values, and that put others first. That is who Ann was; always an angel, even here on Earth. Ann is survived by her husband, Martin Clyde Watkins, Jr.; her children: Martin Watkins III (Vicki), David Watkins (Karen), Kathy Thompson (Charlie Robert), Beverly Harris (John), and Nancy Watkins; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Mackey Funerals & Cremations Century Drive on Monday, July 23rd at 2:00pm. A committal will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
