Jo Ann Bailey, age 87, of Germantown, TN, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018. She was born August 21, 1930 in Memphis, TN to Mamie Sue Collins and Gus Joseph Alfonso.
She was a graduate of Southside High School, Class of 1948 and was a member of Germantown United Methodist Church. She was a financial secretary at Westwood High School and Oakhaven Elementary School and retired from Shelby County Schools after 29 years.
Mrs. Bailey was known as "Granny" by the people who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Joseph Eugene Bailey and brother, Fred Alfonso. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Jo Bintz (Mark); granddaughter, Joanna Bintz; great-grandson, Jac Eugene Murley; and sister, Donna Welch.
The visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the service time at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 18, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
