Marianne Lucille Johnson
March 19, 1930 - August 8, 2018

Marianne Lucille Johnson entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 68 years, Bradley. She is survived by her four children: Dan (Donna) Johnson, Lorrie (Steve) Fine, Janice (Ken) Morton, and Ken Johnson, as well as 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dan (Cele) Lantro, and her sister Lucille (Fred) Johnson.

Marianne was born on March 19, 1930 to Sever and Antionette Lantro in Chicago, Illinois where she spent the first 21 years of her life. After living in Colorado and Kansas, Marianne and Brad moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1960 where they put down roots and raised their family of four children.

After her youngest child started school, Marianne began a 19 year career in food service with the Phoenix Union High School District, becoming a cafeteria manager before retiring. In retirement, Marianne enjoyed traveling with Brad. Their favorite trip was traveling the Alcan Highway to Alaska.

Even as she worked outside the home, Marianne always put her family first. She was kind beyond measure; was an attentive listener; she loved to have fun. Christmas celebrations at her house were overflowing with warmth, laughter, and the smell of bagna cauda. She selflessly loved her family to the end. Her gorgeous smile and warm hugs will be deeply missed by her loved-ones.

A memorial service will be held in the Brick House on the campus of Palmcroft Church, 15825 N. 35th Avenue, in Phoenix, on Friday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Those who desire to do so may make a memorial donation to Hospice of the Valley.
