Robert (Bob) Harness went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born in Richland County, Illinois to Rolla and Iva Harness on August 31, 1939. He graduated East Richland High and then joined the US Air Force in 1958 where he served as a Crew Chief for the fire department in Lincoln, Nebraska. At this time he met his wife Linda Lloyd while on a blind date. Bob always loved to joke and in true fashion he would state that “Linda thought I was rich and I thought she was good looking – we both got took!”

Bob and Linda married on September 2, 1962 and moved to Houston, Texas where Bob became employed with AT&T. Bob was a devoted father to his three children: Tammie Lee, Bobby Lee and Rebecca Lynn. His other love, besides his family, was cars. His first car they purchased together was a 64 Pontiac Bonneville…which will actually be in the funeral procession. After 45 years, he retired and had the honor of serving 42 of those years with perfect service. He was able to then devote the remainder of his life caring for his youngest daughter, Becky, who was born with Rett Syndrome and enjoying family time.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Bernice, and brothers: Harold, Junior and Bud. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Tammie and Becky; son Bobby; sisters Catherine Whipkey, Dolores and husband Ron Mason, Linda and husband Norman Ochs; brothers Kenny and wife Hazel Harness and Elmer Harness as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 17th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas 77598, with a Funeral Service Saturday, August 18th, at 9:00am at Seabrook United Methodist Church, 3300 Lakeside Drive, Seabrook, Texas, 77586 followed by burial at Forest Park East Cemetery.
