Cassius M. Sackett of Chatfield Dead

Chatfield, Minn. - (Special to The Republican-Herald)- Funeral services for Cassius M. Sackett, 84, who died of a stroke Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. L. Nash at Spring Valley, where he had made his home for the last four years, will be conducted by the Rev. Willard Reeves at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Huffman funeral home here. The Masonic order will conduct the burial ceremony at the Chatfield cemetery.

Born at Panama, N.Y., November 6, 1854, Mr. Sackett came to Minnesota in 1862 and married Ida Alice Batterson at Rochester, August 14, 1877. Mr. Sackett was a blacksmith by trade and a member of the Presbyterian church and the Masons.

Besides Mrs. Nash, he is survived by four other daughters, Mrs. A. J. Harvey and Mrs. w. Haight, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Dorris Lyons of Chicago and Mrs. Walter Gardner of Chatfield, and two sons, Victor and Elmer of Minneapolis. His wife died 35 years ago.
