Mrs. Alda Lombard
Buried at Chatfield

Chatfield, Minn. -(Special)- Funeral services were held here this morning for Mrs. Alda Lombard, elderly resident who was found dead in the basement of her home Sunday.

The Rev. D. L. Harbour of Chatfield officiated at services at the Boetzer Funeral home and burial was in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Lombard, about 86, was living alone in an apartment here. Her body was discovered by Mrs. William Peters, who also has an apartment in the same building.

According to reports, Mrs. Peters returned to the building about 6 p.m. and smelled food burning. She went into Mrs. Lombard's apartment and noticed the supper burning on the stove and a light on in the basement.

Olmsted County Coroner T. O. Wellner was called from Rochester and said that death resulted from natural causes.

Mrs. Lombard had suffered a slight stroke recently and the coroner said she apparently suffered a fatal one while getting something from the basement Sunday.

She is survived by a son, Donald, of St. Paul and two grandchildren. Mrs. Lombard spent most of her life in this community.
