William 1919- 2017 Passed away peacefully at Milton District Hospital at the age of 98 on Sunday June 11, 2017. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Marie. William was born on April 28, 1919 in Penzance, Saskatchewan to Anna Tuft (Macartney) and Ernest John Rayner. Stepfather to Gail (Rick) Meade and Alan Kirnan (late wife Wendy). Step-grandfather to Sherry (Will) Rutherford and Steven (Stacey) Meade. Uncle to Ann (Gary), Ken (Diane), Debbie (Don), Helen (Shelly), Susan (Kevin), Cathy (Dave) and many great-nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Muriel Rayner, predeceased by brother-in-law Bill Proud. Predeceased by his siblings William John (infancy), Gordon and Jane Proud. William was an active member of the farming community in Milton for several decades. He raised Holstein and Hereford cattle, chickens, and his cherished Belgian horses. He was a long standing and honorary member of Steam-Era, the Milton Fall Fair, and the Halton Ploughmen's Association. He was also known in the community to those he delivered eggs to on his weekly route, which he continued well into his nineties.
