Rush Courtney, (Papa), 75, of San Antonio went to be with the Lord and his wife, Jo Ann of 55 years, on July 24, 2018 after a stubborn fight against many health issues, with his family by his side.
He was born in Brownsville, Texas to Herbert Rush Courtney and Sally Doris Weaver. He graduated from Highlands H.S. and married Jo Ann Langley July 29, 1963. He served in the US Air Force, was a true Texan, and loved spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially dove hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and a saying for everything.
Rush is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann; and father, Herbert Rush Courtney. He is survived by his mother, Doris; daughter, LauraLee Rakowitz and husband Edward; son, Christopher Courtney and wife Katie; sister, Rushelle Mason and husband Bob; sister-in-law, Nancy Jordan and husband Buddy; grandchildren, Karie Ann, Macie, Mattie, Colton, Justin, Dylan, Brendan, Berlyn, and James; nieces, Ginger and Kelly; nephew, Bobby; cousin, Babbie Zobel.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
