Mr. Smith graduated from McCrory High School before attending college. He worked in the agriculture industry for most of his life. On July 12, 1997, he and Karen Carter were united in marriage. Devin enjoyed hunting as a young man, but later found other hobbies including caring for his fish aquarium and his cats. He enjoyed listening to music, watching westerns, working on projects around the house, and most of all, spending quality time with his family.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his step-father, Charlie Short.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Carter, of the home; a son, Jericho Smith, of McCrory, Arkansas; mother, Charlotte Byers Short, of Collierville, Tennessee; father, Dewayne Smith and his wife, Darlene, of McCrory, Arkansas; a half-brother, Cason Short and his wife, Meagan, of Germantown, Tennessee; a half-sister, Chara Mercer and her husband, Charles, of Collierville, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in McCrory, Arkansas. Interment will follow in White Hall Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lance Daniels, Tim Carter, Kane Reynolds, Matt Smith, Karam Simmons, and Casey Smith.
