Patricia Ann Carney left all of us with broken hearts as she went to Heaven to be with God on Friday, August 3, 2018.
Patty was born in Gouverneur, NY, on Nov. 13, 1947. We married in 1966 and moved to Harrison, in 1978. She operated The Bookrack on Highway 58 for many years and when it closed she went to work at Olan Mills, soon afterwards Lifetouch. At Lifetouch she was the print room team leader.
To meet Patty was to fall in love with her. She had a smile that went from ear to ear, and the friendliest way about her that made her everyone’s best friend. To go with the big smile was a big heart. Whenever she came home from a shopping trip she would joyously show what she bought for this person and that person, and there was never anything at the bottom of the bag that she bought for herself. During the Christmas season she often came home without a paycheck because she gave it away to some folks who needed it more than we did. Patty was original and one of a kind.
Welcoming Patty in Heaven are her mother and father Teresa Butler and Rolland Foy.
The broken hearted include her husband of 51 years, Robert, of Ooltewah, her son Alan (Nanette) Carney of San Antonio, Texas, her daughter Suann Jones of Harrison, her son Matthew (fiancée Christy Tinsley) Carney, of Ooltewah, brother Michael Foy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, brother James Foy of Eagle Bridge, New York, grandson Austin Jones of Harrison, granddaughter Erin Jones of Chattanooga, and family members Eva Carney of Harrison and Tracy Jones of Harrison.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
