Makenzie Lee Horst, was born into the arms of Jesus surrounded by the love of her parents on Saturday, August 12, 2018.
Although Makenzie never spent any time of this earth, she already touched the lives of many friends and family. She had brought so much love and joy to her parents: Matt and Shana (Gierke) Horst; grandparents: Dan & Tammie Gierke and Mike & Judy Horst; three uncles: Josh (Krystle) Gierke, Jeremy Gierke and Nick (Kendra) Horst; a cousin: Hudson and great-grandparents: Rosie (Henry) Bender-Bub, Carol Gierke (Al Riesterer), Mary Mueller and Robert & Monica Horst. She will be further missed many great-aunts and great-uncles, and extended family members, especially the camping family.
She is being greeted in heaven by her great-grandfathers: James Bender, Norman Gierke and Elroy Mueller.
A Funeral Service for Makenzie will be held at 6:00pm on Friday evening, August 17, 2018 at St. Peter's UCC (424 Fremont Street, Kiel). Officiating at the service will be The Reverend Christopher Ross with burial to follow at Kiel City Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:30pm until 5:45pm at church when brief family rites will be held.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Makenzie's name at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Matt & Shana would like to personally thank all of the doctors and nurses for all of their love, compassion and support during this tough time. Matt & Shana will be forever grateful for the staff at Froedert Hospital and Children's Hospital.
