Sarah Jane “Sally” Ross, 78, Austin Trail, Orangeville, passed away at her home at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, after battling cancer since February 2017.
Born in Bloomsburg on Feb. 16, 1940, she was a daughter of the late William Graver and Naomi Meredith Lentz. She was a 1958 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Sally resided in Greenwood Township for 43 years and was employed as a phlebotomist at the Bloomsburg Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 2008.
She filled her days spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, crafting, reading, bird watching (particularly hummingbirds), and tending to the catfish in her pond.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Ross Sr., on Aug. 15, 2008, ending a marriage of 33 years.
Surviving are three daughters: Sarah E., wife of Gary Anderson, Cherry Hill, Colo., Jennifer, wife of Thomas W. Davis, Chambersburg, and Aimee, wife of James Ellison, Stroudsburg; a son, Charles L. Ross Jr., and his wife, Erin, Hamburg; a stepson, Jeff Ross, Montrose, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren: Blaine, Claire, AimeeBeth, Maggie, Jordon, Joshua, Reilly, Daenerys, Dillon and Carly.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton. Interment will follow in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Ross Township, Luzerne County.
