Wyatt Davenport, son of Jones Calhoun Davenport and Neppie (Grogan) Davenport, was a student at the Georgia Military College. He suffered a brain injury while playing a baseball game on April 8, 1922 and died from his injuries on April 16.

Milledgeville, Ga., April 17 -- Wyatt Davenport, centerfielder of the Georgia Military college baseball team, died here yesterday from injuries received in a game between G.M.C. and the Georgia School of Technology freshmen on April 8. Davenport collided with another member of his team while attempting to catch a ball. He suffered concussion of the brain and never regained consciousness.
