She was a 1952 graduate of Athens High School where she was a cheerleader and involved in many other activities. She married David Wallace in 1954. As a devoted military wife, she was a homemaker until the early 1980's when she was employed by Harold Brown CPA, Dr. Halterman, DDS, First Christian Church, and Karr Audiology. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Athens and The Plains United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Mark (Debra Henderson), of Athens; a daughter, Jackie (Brent Jarvis), of The Plains; a son, Michael (Tara), of Athens; a brother, Jerry Tolson (late Betty Tolson), of Belmont, NC; a stepsister, Alice Stotts, of Rittman; 9 grandchildren, Tiffany (Ryan) Garland, David Holifield, Jeni Meeks, Sean Wallace, KaSandra Wallace, Alisha (Rick) Schuckert, Justin (Natasha) Pack, Camryn Wallace, and Reece Wallace; 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dog, Little Girl.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Wallace, a daughter, Diana L. Wallace, a brother, Danny Tolson, step-sisters, Jeanne Beal, Virginia Hering, Judy Michael, Sue Swart, and step-brothers, Charles, Bill, and John Canale.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery.
