Dorothy Sue Ackerman, 58, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018. She was born on September 9, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Max William Ackerman and Viola Strakos Ackerman.

She worked in different departments as a valued employee of Kroger for many years. Dorothy enjoyed doing word-search puzzles and taking trips to the casino. She loved watching different TV shows from cooking shows, westerns, and soap operas. Dorothy was a fan of George Strait and enjoyed dancing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Max and Viola Ackerman; grandparents, Max L. Ackerman, Angelina Janak Ackerman, John Stakos Sr., and Ludmilla Budova Strakos; uncle, Charles Bederka; aunt, Doris Bederka; cousin, Liz Skrla; and brother-in-law, William D. Stubbs.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Viola Stubbs, Sandra Arsement, Mildred Bebee, and Mary Ackerman; nieces, Angela Jentho, Ashley Stubbs, and Lindsay Parmer; nephews, William Stubbs Jr., and Eric Arsement; great niece, Dixie Adams; great nephews, Tyler Jentho, Scott Jentho Jr., Owen Parmer, Ethan Parmer, Hollis Arsement, and Bentley Adams; special friends, Diane Davis and Ruby Phillips; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 also at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sterling-White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas.
