Mrs. Eula Ranney of Kirby passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the age of 91.

She was born August 22, 1918, in Concord, the daughter of Harry and Susie (Briggs) Fisher. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald S. Ranney, in 1974. Even though she lived in her own half of the family duplex, the Ranney family had all lived together in the same home in Kirby since moving from East Concord in the late 1940s.

She enjoyed working with her flowers and her time spent at Riverside Adult Enrichment Center.

Eula is survived by her son, Richard Ranney and wife Susan; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ranney and Mark of Kirby, Troy Ranney and wife Heather of Kirby; two great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Zana; her sister Marguerite Scales of Gilman; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Ranney in 1974, her sister Verl Colby, and her brothers Renford and Carl Fisher.Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Grove Cemetery in East St. Johnsbury. The Rev. Ann Hockridge will officiate. It was 35 years ago on this day that her husband Donald passed away.
