Walter Britt Kirby, 92, of Fortson, GA passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.

A Funeral Service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, August 17, 2018 beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST. The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2018 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. EST.

Walter Britt Kirby was born February 5, 1926 in Eufaula, AL to the parents of Robert E. Kirby and Ollie Bell Kirby.

Walter was a member of Mountain Hill Baptist Church. Walter was also a member of the Freemasons. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will forever be missed.

Other than his parents, Walter is predeceased by his wife, Annie Kirby; daughters Pamela Kirby Wilson and Sue Ann Clark; sister Louise Kirby; brothers T.A. Kirby, Robert Kirby and Tommy Kirby, and son in law, Otis Clark.

Survivors include his sister, Ruby Cox Glean of Houston, TX; extended generations.

The family would also like to give a special thank you to the staff at River Towne Center in Columbus, GA for the care and love they gave to Mr. Kirby.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
