Obituary:
Deborah "Debbie" Sue Buchanan, age 65, of Bristol, Tenn., was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born June 19, 1951, in Marion, Va., a daughter of the late Marshall Parks and Edna Hester Tibbs.
She graduated from ETSU in 1992 and was employed at Bristol Regional Medical Center for 20 years as a Registered Nurse. Debbie was a member of Heritage Baptist Church but more importantly a child of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Buck" Buchanan; grandson, Donovan Scott Bays; and sister, Pattie Tibbs Harris.
Survivors include her eldest son, Jason Bays and wife, LaRaine; daughter, Jennifer Meadows and husband, Pat; youngest son, Aaron Buchanan; stepdaughter, Esther Fatsy and husband, Jim; two grandchildren, Hope and Caleb; four step grandchildren, Jocelyn, Christie, Jonathan and Heather; siblings, Kenny Parks, Mike Parks, Charles Parks and Linda Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
