Rev. A.W. Thomason, age 90, of Muskogee, OK passed away on Monday, August 13th, 2018 in Muskogee, OK. He was born to William and Berch (Calcota) Thomason on October 3rd, 1927 in Gore, OK. After graduation in 1945 he received his Bachelor's of Theology from Burton College and Seminary and a Master's Degree of Bible Theology from International Bible Institute.
Rev. Thomason was a devoted pastor and loving husband. On February 4th 1950 Rev. A.W. Thomason married Myrtle in Muskogee, OK and they spent 63 wonderful years together. He and Myrtle founded the Homer Assembly of God in Homer, AK, the First Assembly Church in Wagoner, OK and the Westside Assembly of God in Marion, IN.
He was a great preacher of the gospel. Under his leadership many were called into ministry and into the mission field. He was a great role model and mentor to those around him. After retiring from Westside Assembly he went on and helped many churches in Oklahoma, either as a fill in Pastor, or by giving guidance to younger ministers.
Rev. A.W. Thomason was a great soul winner. Most of all he loved the Lord, his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Simply put, his goal was for everyone he met to lead them to Christ.
Rev. A.W. Thomason was preceded in death by his parents, William and Berch Thomason, his wife, Myrtle Thomason, three children, Bruce Wayne and twins, Marcus Wayne and Catherine Elisabeth, one grandchild, Nicholas Thomason and twelve brothers and sisters.
His funeral service was held at the Muskogee, Oklahoma First Assembly of God. Burial was in the Greenhill Cemetery.
