Ray Cain
July 22, 1958 - August 7, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Ray Cain announces his passing after his 16-month battle with cancer, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the age of 60. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Jamie and his daughters Kim Briggs (Chris Anaya) and Niki (Jeff) Dickinson, his three grandsons Mason Ramsay, Jeffrey and Andrew Dickinson, granddaughter Morgan Briggs, parents Bonnie and Bobby Humphrey, brother Chris (Donna) Cain, two brothers in law David (Vanessa) Mefford, Michael (Joyce) Mefford, honorary son Vicente (Antoinette) Nieves, and special friend, cousin, and farming partner Sam (Gay) Beck. Ray was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother in law Nettie, father in law JD, and brother David. Ray will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.

Born in Danville, Kentucky, formerly of Gary, Indiana and an Arizona resident of 32 years. Ray graduated from Wirt High School in Gary, IN, was formerly an electrical apprentice at US Steel, Gary Works. Ray spent the last 20 years as the Electrical Division Manager at Bjerk Builders. He was proud to be an electrical contractor and was honored to be named Electrical Contractor of the Year last year for the Arizona Independent Electrical Contractors Association.

Ray was a giving man who never asked for anything in return. Simple pleasures he enjoyed were doing chores around his Kentucky farm, relaxing at his Arizona mountain cabin, and most of all, spending time with his friends and family.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, August 12, at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W Thunderbird Road, Peoria, AZ. Dean Kredit will be officiating.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Ray to Cancer Treatment Centers of America or Hospice of the Valley.
