Isaiah Daniel "Dan" Bailey
Apr 4, 1937 – Sep 16, 2019

Isaiah Daniel Bailey, age 82, of Live Oak, Florida passed away September 16, 2019 after a brief illness.

Mr. Bailey was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 4, 1937 to the late William Eugene and Elsie Lee Bailey. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Live Oak. He served in the United States Air Force.

He was a computer programmer for the St. Lucie County Board of Elections for thirty years before retiring and building a home in Live Oak.

Dan loved to cook, especially for friends. He enjoyed creating new dishes and serving them with his favorite red wine. He was an accomplished woodworker. He loved working with wood, and he could build anything from wood, both small and large. He built everything from 6-inch crosses and push/pulls to entertainment centers and much of the furniture in his own home. He created many special pieces for friends.

Dan was full of life and enjoyed spending time with his many friends, laughing, playing dominoes, eating, and even cutting the grass at his beloved Green Acres.

One of his favorite things to do was to have coffee at 10 AM every day with the "Hardee boys."

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Goforth Bailey; son Mark Bailey (Jackie) of Okeechobee, stepdaughter Angela Prestia of Tequesta, grandchildren Chelsea (Joe) Platas of Tequesta, Richard (Kristin) Chapman of Ft. Lauderdale, great-grandchildren Aria and Lana Platas, sister Barbara Jean Bailey of Cape Coral, brother Gene Bailey of Englewood, and special friends, Patrick and Jill Adrian of Live Oak.

Dan loved people, and he leaves many friends with special memories of good times with him. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Westwood Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Rev. Ben Bush will officiate. Friends may visit the family at 10:00 AM before the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the "Hardee boys." Contributions may be made to Westwood Baptist Church, 920 SW 11th Street, Live Oak, FL 32064 in memory of Mr. Dan Bailey. Anyone who knew and loved Dan knew that he did not like ties, so please do not wear a tie to his Memorial Service!
