He was born in Hyden, Kentucky and served his country in the U.S. Army. He had been employed with both C.B.I. Trucking and Carolina Southern Trucking. He loved his family, enjoyed both fishing and tinkering.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Belle Baker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent Edward Baker, II and his wife, Teresa, and Paul Richard Baker and his wife, Ava; grandchildren, Vincent Edward Baker, III, Katherine Nichole Baker, Christopher Baker, Caitlin Baker, Abigail Hutcheson, Michael Leavens and Parker Leavens; sister, Mary Besl; daughters-in-law, Carla and Debra; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Monday, August 13th from 4 until 6 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
The graveside funeral and burial will be on Tuesday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery located at 1601 Boundary Street in Beaufort, South Carolina.
