Obituary of Nell Sims Smith

Nell Sims Smith (93) went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 26, 2018. Nell was born in Pigeon Creek, Alabama, August 11, 1924. The family later moved to Montgomery where she grew up, married and raised a family. She was a special mother and grandmother who was loved by her family and will be truly missed. We know she is now with the Lord and her son, Johnny, and our greatest desire and longing is to be reunited with them one day. She loved the Lord and that was the greatest teaching she passed on to her children; her first and foremost concern was that we would all know Jesus as our Savior and Lord - and we are all so grateful for that.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, John Clinton Roberts; parents - C.M. and Nona Kate Sims (Circle S Ranch, Snowdoun, AL); three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Lisa) Smith, Montgomery, AL; Ken Smith, Montgomery, AL; daughters, Suzanne (Mike) Outten, Charlotte, NC; Betsy (Dale) Spencer, Knoxville, TN; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchiildren.

A visitation for Nell Smith is set for Tuesday, July 31 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of White Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
