Rex A. Baker, 47, Decorated Veteran
Funeral services for Rex Asa Baker, 47, of Mountain Home, who was killed in a highway accident near Oakland, Calif., on Tuesday of last week, were conducted here Saturday at the McClure Chapel.
Rev. Ben C. Few, a retired minister of the First United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Mountain Home Cemetery, under the direction of the McClure Service.
Mr. Baker, who was employed as a service station attendant, was a veteran of South Pacific action with the Army during World War II and a winner of numerous service decorations. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was born here on Jan. 22, 1922, the son of the late Floyd Baker and Ocra Adams Baker, and lived in the Mountain Home area most of his life.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. June Bergstrom of Orange, Calif.; a brother, Robert Baker of Mountain Home; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Warren McLeod, Edgar Sherman, Gene Baker, Frank Baker, Jerry Baker and Jack Jones.

Warning Fails To Halt Death
HAYWARD (AP) - The highway parol says a transient who ignored warnings against hitchhiking was killed Tuesday night by an automobile
The victim was identified by the patrol as Rex Baker, 47.
An hour after being warned by a patrolman, he was struck by a car driven by Ansel W. Jeffries, 49, of Hayward. Police said the victim stepped into the path of the car. The driver was not cited.
