Bryan C. Long, a long time educator, passed away in Fresno, CA. Bryan was born in Exeter, CA, to Russell and Osee Long.

He joined the United States Navy in 1945, and served until the end of the war. He spent 30 years in the Naval Reserves and was honored to be a navy veteran.

n 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Jay, and started his 60 year teaching career.

As a two term President of the Fresno Teachers' Association, he led the only teacher strike in Fresno Unified School District. He was active in teacher politics at the local, state, and national level, which is how he met his wife, Fran Range. He served on the board of the Educational Employees Credit Union for over 25 years. Bryan was a people person who never met a stranger. He loved to travel and met his goal of visiting all 50 states.
