*Glenn served our county with distinction throughout his life. During the Vietnam War he served a tour with the USAF 20th Special Operations Squadron on both CH-3E and UH-1F/P helicopters. He also served a tour as an UH-1H helicopter adviser with the Vietnamese Air Force. After sixteen years in the USAF, Glenn joined the U.S. Army reserves where he served for fifteen years and retired with the rank of Lt. Col. *I served with Glen at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand 1969-70. He was the Unit Training NCO and was always smiling and easy going. He was one of my favorite Helicopter Mechanics. He never hesitated to offer support and assistance when I needed help preparing for my upgrade training. I have uploaded a photo of all of us on the night shift. Glen is kneeling on the front row. I am the one in civilian clothes. The picnics were always on Sunday, my day off. I figured that if I showed up in civilian clothes, then I wouldn't have to work.

*I was a pilot with the 20th Helicopter Squadron in Vietnam when Glenn was there although I never actually met him until the 20th reunion in Angel Fire in 2010. He was a very likable guy. We later worked together on the "Gommer Getter" Facebook page and 20th Helicopter website. He was a good friend and will be missed. It was great to see him at the Omaha reunion last week. Godspeed Glenn Hunter.
