Musician. Born in in Pascagoula, Mississippi, he was an Elvis Presley Impersonator internationally known for his singing ability and dynamic personal appearances. Backed by the Jordanaires singers, he would wear a mask and was professionally known as Orion. Like Elvis, he recorded for Sun Records with cover hits such as "That's Alright, Mama" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky." He also sang gospel, country, rock and recorded 11 albums. In the 1970s to 1980s, he appeared on shows with the Oak Ridge Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Reba McEntire, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Greenwood, Ronnie Milsap and Dionne Warwick. Ellis was killed as he was standing before the display counter in his Pawn and Package Store, when a gunman during a robbery attempt started firing.
