Timothy Tobin, an old and respected resident of Florence, died suddenly yesterday, aged 89. He was born in County Cork, Ireland, and came to this country 65 years ago and worked between Rome and Utica, settling in Florence 55 years ago, where he cleared a 100 acre farm. That country was wild at that time, and persons had to find their way from place to place by marks on trees. Mr. Tobin was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Florence. He is survived by six children, Mrs. Mary McNamara of 221 Spring street, this city, Mrs. Ella Niess, who is now at Mrs. McNamara's, but who for the past five years live d with her father, Mrs. Margaret Sullivan of Florence, Mrs. Kate Courtney of Watertown, Mrs. Julia Mooney of New York city, and Thomas Tobin of Yorkville, also 34 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs. Tobin died about two years ago. They had been married 60 years.
