Lester Howell Belliston, 72, passed away January 14, 1986 in a Bountiful hospital of a heart attack.

He was born November 30, 1908 in Nephi, Utah to Lester Bardsley Belliston and Tryphena Mabel Howell. He married Leona B Peterson June 3, 1931 in the Salt Lake Temple. He had been a farmer, Juah County Assessor, a postal service employee, and an insurance agent.

Active in the LDS Church, he served an LDS mission in England prior to his marriage and one with his wife in the San Diego Mission. He was Bishop of the Nephi LDS South Ward and 1st Ward. He served on the High Council, as Stake Clerk, and as President of the Juab Stake. He also served in the Ogden Genealogy Library and as a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple. He was currently a High Priest in the Bountiful 52 Ward. He was very active in genealogy work, having compiled and published a 700 page history of the Belliston Family.

He is survived by his dear wife of Bountiful, nine sons and daughters: Mrs. James (Ara) Richards, Manassas, Virginia; Mrs. Parley (Bona) Belnap, American Fork; Nancy Adamson and Peter L. Belliston, Bountiful; Ward P Belliston, Logan; A. Brent Belliston, Meridian, Idaho; Don P. Belliston, Sandy; Mrs. Ronald (Blanche) Keller, Memphis, Missouri; and Elizabeth Ann Belliston, Kensington, Maryland; 60 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Marvin P (Minnie) Draper, Bountiful, Thomas E Belliston, Salt Lake City, Vernon M Belliston, Richland, Washington, Mrs. Fred (Eunice) Bateman, Salt Lake City, A Garth Belliston, St. George; stepbrothers and sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Reva) Redd, Blanding, Mrs. Don (Carma) Richmond, Salt lake City, Jack Vickers, West Valley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald O and Paul Edward, and one sister, Arzella B Howell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nephi, Utah 1st Ward building. Friends may call at the Bountiful 52nd Ward Chapel Friday evening. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
