Services for Marvin Curtis Black, 72, of 600 Ermine Road, Lexington, will be held at noon Monday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Black died Friday, Aug. 11, 1995. Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Eddie and Mattie Still Black. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had attended Midlands Technical College. He was retired from Owens Steel Co. and attended First Church of God of Covenant Road. Surviving are his wife, Nellie M. Williams Black; sons, Marvin Black of Cayce and Randy Black of Pelion; sisters, Erlis Hutto of Blackville, Verlene Hutto of Olar and Evelyn and Margie Croft, both of Barnwell; brothers, Raymond Black of Santee, Kenneth Black of Columbia and Clinton Black of Salley; and five grandchildren. © The State, Columbia, SC, 13 Aug 1995
