Andrew James Casterlin, 30, of Plains Twp., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, while in the care of the Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Kingston on April 26, 1988, he was the son of Bryan and Sandy Karavitch Casterlin. Andrew grew up in the Plains Twp. area and participated in all the sports the town had to offer. He played football for the Plains Twp. Yankees and played baseball for the Plains Twp. Little League.

In his teen years, he enjoyed going fishing, riding quads and playing video games with his friends.

He attended the local Plains Twp. schools and attended James M. Coughlin High School.

Andrew found employment as an Industrial Technology Technician in communications. He worked for several companies installing communication systems in big box stores and chain franchises.

Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Walter Nestorick.

Surviving are his parents, Bryan and Sandy, Plains Twp.; sisters, Kassandra Mayewski and her husband, Randi, Parsons; and Breyann Casterlin, Pittston; brother, Bryan Casterlin, Plains Twp.; paternal grandfather, Clarence Casterlin, Pittston; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Nestorick, Plains Twp.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Beatrice Karavitch, Plains Twp.; nephews, Lucas, Parsons; and Matthew, Pittston; niece, Breyleigh, Plains Twp.; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark St., Plains Twp. A funeral service will begin at 7:30 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Jack Lambert, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Twp. A private interment will follow.
